University of Oregon - Global Education
Dr. Yong Zhao, a professor at the University of Oregon College of Education, is quoted on their Global Education site: "We help educational organizations to become globally oriented, globally connected, and globally competent." Their department can help K-12 administrators and teachers to learn more about global education, assess their school's current state of global education, and can even help schools design professional development experiences based on global exchanges. They also have an educational platform called Oba that K-12 schools can use to design and offer courses, manage student e-portfolios of global competencies, and share and exchange ideas and resources with other educators and school systems.

Portlandia International Language School
There are certainly many language learning classes and schools in the Portland Area. I chose to include this resource because they also offer free Spanish conversation classes and movie Fridays where they show Latin American films.

Portland International Scholars Academy
I have included this resource as a reminder that ESL/ELD programs are a great resource for building cross-cultural connections. This program in Portland is designed specifically for newcomer students to the U.S. to help them develop their English schools before continuing at their local school. ELD classes and newcomer centers like this one are a great resource for finding students who come from diverse cultural backgrounds and for developing projects between classes.
